Orientation Sunday, September 20th, 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Monday, September 21st – Wednesday, September 23rd 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Thursday, September 24th 9:00am – 11:00am (Optional)
As a teacher, Sandro Miller, one of the top international advertising photographers working today, is ALL IN.
He made his name based on his expert, versatile lighting skills and the unique emotional connection he captures from his sitters. Sandro’s many clients know they can call on him to create exactly the perfect lighting for each of his portrait jobs. His range knows no bounds in the service of his craft.
This intensive four-day workshop will expose attendees to powerful lighting techniques for advertising and editorial portraiture. This class is conceived so that Sandro can demonstrate, and the class can photograph, using specific lighting setups that are designed based on the actual subject and assignment requirements and not standard fall-back setups.
Sandro will show how he approaches and lights a portrait, demonstrating not only the technical aspects but eliciting the emotional connections in the portrait that has made his one of the most remarkable careers in both commercial and fine art photography today. In addition, he will discuss his transformation from photographer to photographer / film maker in the class.
Photographers should bring their laptops and be conversant with their hardware and software in order to facilitate downloading and projecting their work for critiques in class. Digital projectors with standard DVI / VGA cables will be provided. If you require any special adapter for your computer for this purpose, please be sure to bring one to class.
All Workshop Participants are invited to the Canon/Freestyle Digital Print Center at Korakia on Thursday, September 24th from 11:00am to 6:00pm to have an image of their choice printed out on a Canon Pro 2000 printer, using custom profiles and on their choice of several inkjet papers.
Includes daily registration for the full days of the class, workshop transportation, models, and a boxed lunch for each full day of the workshop.
