He spent over two decades with Vanity Fair magazine and currently works on a variety of visual projects in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley. Michelle Dunn Marsh BioMichelle Dunn Marsh is the founder of Minor Matters Books. An educator and advocate for significant photography, she has worked in the field for twenty-five years, fostering the creation of over 100 photography books. In the last five years she has also curated exhibitions including Jim Marshall: The Rolling Stones 1972 (EMP Museum), Here I Am—Photographs by Lisa Leone (Bronx Museum), and All Power: Visual Legacies of the Black Panther Party, Terminal, Me and My Selfie with Chieko Phillips, and Eugene Richards: "Enduring Freedom," (PCNW). She is interested in transcendent photography that pushes the boundaries of our culture and the medium today. Carol Henry BioCarol Henry is currently curating an Imogen Cunningham exhibition for the Louisville Photo Biennial in two venues for fall 2021. She recently co-founded The Art Distillery and is the photo director of Carmel Visual Arts. She is very interested in the work of female photographers. Jerome Huffer BioJerome Huffler is the head of the photo department for Paris Match magazine in Paris, France. Norman Maslov BioNorman Maslov, is an Artist's Agent representing a small group of extremely creative commercial photographers who constantly cross the line between fine ads and fine art. His agency, Norman Maslov, Agent Internationale Maya Robinson BioMaya Robinson is the Senior Photo Editor for New York Magazine. Glenn Ruga BioGlenn Ruga is the Founder and Director of the Social Documentary Network, Executive Editor of ZEKE magazine, and the former Executive Director of the Photographic Resource Center in Boston. Reviewer Preference: Interested in seeing documentary, editorial, fine art, motion. Harvey Stein BioHarvey Stein is Director of Photography at Umbrella Arts and has curated 43 exhibits since 2007. He is a well known photographer with seven photography books published, a frequent lecturer on photography both in the United States and abroad, a long time photo educator and has had over 80 one person exhibits. Clare Vander Meersch BioClare is a founding member of the Magenta Foundation for the arts (magentafoundation.org), and continues to serve on their board, with particular devotion to the Flash Forward competition celebrating emerging photographers—now worldwide. Reviewer Preference: interested in Photojournalism and Documentary photography | Daria Bonera BioBorn in Milan, after graduating in Fashion Marketing from St Martins School in London, Daria started working for the Grazia Neri Photo Agency, where she represented several international agencies and photographers. She moved to New York to work as the agent of documentary photographer Donna Ferrato and represented Grazia Neri’s photographers in the US. Daria returned to Milano where she now represents selected photographers and film directors for fashion, advertising and digital campaigns. Angelika Hala Bio Angelika Hala has been the New York photo editor and producer for the stern Magazine group for some 20 years, and commissions, researches and licenses photography for a wide range of features from documentary, sports, science and news to portrait and fashion, working with established photographers as well as developing talent. She participated in multiple portfolio reviews across the United States and internationally, and was juror for The Fence/Photoville and ZEKE Awards; and mentor at the Eddie Adams Workshops. Florence Nash BioFlorence Nash was born and raised in France. She started her New York career with photo agencies representing news and portrait photographers before freelancing with magazines and book publishers. She has been a photo editor at People Magazine for 10 years, focusing on human interest, newsmakers and news-related stories. This year, she was on the jury panel of American Photography 32. She assigns both environmental and studio portraiture, as well as photojournalism with a great appreciation for storytelling ability. Judith Peyrat BioJudith Peyrat is the Director of the prestigious Paris Gallery, Baudoin Lebon. | Arpi Agdere BioArpi Agdere is a Producer at Wieden and Kennedy. H Kelly Chiello BioKelly Chiello is the Visuals Editor for InStyle. She commissions fashion, beauty and portraiture photography. She's been with InStyle for about 5 years and has watched the digital brand grow a lot during that time. When she's not at work, she loves talking about dogs and ghost stories. Dan Gaba BioDan Gaba is the Homepage Photo Editor at The Wall Street Journal. I'm interested in seeing the photos you don't think I want to see, the personal work, the stuff you're just about to not include in your portfolio because you don't think it's good enough but you really love it. Mollie Jannasch BioMollie Jannasch launched her career in the photo industry in New York City at Art + Commerce where she worked on everything from portfolio development to production. In 2008, Mollie founded Agency MJ, a Nashville-based agency that represents a select roster of high-end commercial photographers and directors from around the United States. Agency MJ’s photographers have worked on national campaigns for Toyota, Zipcar, Beats by Dre, Publix, Miller Coors, and Intel, among many others. Today, Mollie continues to operate a multi-faceted agency which has grown to provide commercial clients a full-service experience from pre-production to post, and everything in between. Deborah Klochko BioDeborah Klochko has been the Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Photographic Arts since 2006. She has taught, lectured and written extensively on photography and has curated more than 30 exhibitions throughout her career. Klochko was the executive editor of See, an award-winning journal of visual culture, and is the founder of Speaking of Light: Oral Histories of American Photographers. She is the author of Picturing Eden and co-authored both Moment of Seeing: Minor White at the California School of Fine Arts and Create and Be Recognized: Photography on the Edge, in addition to numerous other publications. Most recently, Klochko curated the traveling exhibition Moment in Time: A Collection of Photographs for Bank of America. Formerly the director of The Friends of Photography, located at the Ansel Adams Center, she has also worked at the California Museum of Photography; the International Museum of Photography and Film at the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York; and the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Sybylla Smith BioJ.Sybylla Smith is an independent curator with over 27 solo or group exhibitions featuring over 80 international photographers exhibited in the U.S., Mexico and South America. Smith consults with individual photographers and arts organizations to develop exhibitions, educational programming and written content including artist statements and marketing material. An adjunct professor, guest lecturer and thesis advisor, Smith has worked with the School of Visual Arts, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Wellesley College, Harvard University, and Emmanuel College. She lectures and conducts workshops on Concept AwareTM, a unique creative framework for concept development. | Svetlana Bachevanova BioSvetlana Bachevanova is the executive director of the FotoEvidence Association in France and a co-founder of the acclaimed publishing house FotoEvidence Press (New York 2010). The books she and her team publish expose injustice, create enduring evidence of violations of human rights and inspire social change. Svetlana has worked with some of the most skilled and dedicated documentary photographers to publish their work, human stories recounting indisputable evidence of social injustice. In addition to managing the publication of books, the FotoEvidence exhibits she curated have been mounted around the world to promote change. Svetlana conceived the FotoEvidence Book Award and the W Award for women to support the work of photographers dedicated to the pursuit of human rights, publishing work that is unlikely to find commercial publication. Under her management FotoEvidence has occupied a unique space in the world of photojournalism as both a publishing house and activist organization. Jennifer Lamping BioJen Lamping is VP / Director of Art Production at Rubin, Postaer, and Associates (RPA) in Los Angeles. Victoria Munro BioVictoria Munro is the Executive Director of the Alice Austen House, a nationally designated site of LGBTQ history and the only museum in America to represent the work of one women photographer, Alice Austen. Victoria is an Art and Art History Educator, Maker, and Photographic Curator. Victoria consults and speaks on LGBTQ+ curriculum development, historical and current LGBTQ+ interpretations in public and private institutions. Quentin Nardi BioQuentin Nardi is chief photo editor for Smithsonian magazine. A photo editor and director professional with more than 20 years of national magazine and editorial photo editing experience in both print and digital platforms. Prior to Smithsonian, Nardi spent nine years as a photo editor for Outside, Ski magazine and as director of photography for AARP, where she helped to redefine the visual direction of AARP The Magazine. Nardi earned a BFA in photography from the University of New Mexico Marijana Rayl Bio Marijana Rayl is the Curatorial Assistant, Photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Before joining the MFAH, Marijana was an Associate Specialist of photography at Phillips auction house in New York and has previously worked at the Center for Creative Photography (Tucson, AZ), the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia, PA) and Christie’s auction house (New York, NY). Marijana does NOT attend reviews to find artists for exhibition or acquisition. Rather, she can answer specific questions about the work or series, discuss the relationship between subject and presentation, introduce historical context, and provide insight into the needs and processes of large museums. Molly Roberts BioMolly Roberts is a curator, photography editor, and educator living in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Roberts was recently completed a prestigious year-long Residency as a Knight Fellow in the Visual Communication Department at Ohio University. Roberts was a Senior Photography Editor at National Geographic magazine. She led the photography department at Smithsonian magazine for 16 years, bringing recognition to the magazine as a National Press Photographers association award winning visuals team for multiple years. Beth Taubner BioFounder of Mercurylab, Beth Taubner has been a transformational brand strategist and Creative Director for over 20 years. Using psychological, emotional, visual and analytical tools, Beth has developed a profound emotional branding process enabling clients to come to market with a focused blueprint for success, rooted in authenticity and consciousness. Beth has extensive experience working with creatives who seek to move across “borders,” markets and categories, and works on brand meaning and strategy, language communications, creative direction, marketing tools and business expansion and marketing with some of the top photographers and artist representative agencies in the US, UK and Europe. Pamela Jean Tinnen BioPamela is a curator and writer based in New York. She has worked for over a decade as a curator specializing in public-art at NYU, as well as for contemporary art galleries. Her artistic, academic and curatorial interests most often engage photography, noir-theory, semiotics, dark-tourism, aesthetics and visual-culture. Currently, Morton works as an editor, agent, and consultant for photographers and artists seeking publication in books. In addition to helping to prepare presentations for consideration by publishers (selecting and sequencing photographs, deciding upon forms of presenting work, discussing desired formats and printing methods), Morton works with the artist and publisher to find and enlist authors for introductions and other texts. Marilyn Cadenbach BioWith over 30 years of experience as a commercial photography agent, Marilyn Cadenbach offers a keen eye and a wealth of knowledge to committed photographers interested in working in the advertising and editorial marketplaces. A deep affinity for photography and an understanding of the challenges artists face when marketing their own work inspired her to open her agency in 1988. Miller Bio Kevin Miller is a California-based consulting curator and exhibition developer in freelance practice. He is formerly the Director and Senior Curator of the Southeast Museum of Photography, a public museum in Florida, from 2001 to 2017. At the museum he curated and presented more than 400 exhibitions and produced numerous exhibition texts, catalogues and public programs. He is interested in reviewing developed bodies of work ready for publication or exhibition as well as reviewing evolving series still in development that will benefit from critical interpretation and editing. James Wellford BioJames Wellford, Senior International Photo Editor since 2000. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he is a graduate of Brown University. He is a founding member of Fovea Editions as well as a curator and co-founder of SeenUnseen, a program of projections by leading photojournalists that brings to light consequential issues throughout the world. Prior to his Newsweek post, he edited the historical archives of the New York Daily News and worked as an editor at Gamma, SIPA, and Black Star agencies. | Pilar Law BioPilar's investigation of and involvement in all facets of the photo industry have contributed to her unique understanding of the processes, aesthetics and value of photography in today’s art market. Upon her return to Santa Fe seven years ago after living and working in the Bay Area and LA, Pilar founded Edition ONE Gallery on Canyon Road, a contemporary photography gallery with an inviting living-room atmosphere featuring the works of a hand-picked group of artists working in traditional and digital media. Miller Bio Kevin Miller is a California-based consulting curator and exhibition developer in freelance practice. He is formerly the Director and Senior Curator of the Southeast Museum of Photography, a public museum in Florida, from 2001 to 2017. At the museum he curated and presented more than 400 exhibitions and produced numerous exhibition texts, catalogues and public programs. He is interested in reviewing developed bodies of work ready for publication or exhibition as well as reviewing evolving series still in development that will benefit from critical interpretation and editing. Renee Rhyner BioRenee Rhyner has been an agent working with commercial artists for over twenty years with offices in Dallas and New York City. With foundations in commercial photography representation, her roster has expanded to also include graphic designers, illustrators, filmmakers, and a Production Division. The group of artists has been recognized in Communication Arts Photography and Illustration Annuals, Photo District News and American Photography and American Illustration Annuals. Hava Gurevich Bio Hava Gurevich is the Director of art2art Circulating Exhibitions. Founded in 2004, art2art Circulating Exhibitions is an organization that curates and tours photography exhibitions, is committed to providing high-quality collections on a wide range of topics that are accessible to regional museums, university art galleries, and other small or mid-size public institutions. As the founding Director, Ms.Gurevich is responsible for scouting new shows, curating both solo and group exhibitions, and placing them in museums. She is actively searching for new photography shows to add to art2art’s museum offerings. art2art’s exhibitions are content driven with a wide range of themes with an emphasis on work that addresses current events, multiculturalism, natural history, and anthropology. Leah Levine BioLeah Levine is the founder of L2 Agency Inc., an LA based Photographer’s Representation Agency and Production Services company, currently representing photographers in Los Angeles. Currently, Morton works as an editor, agent, and consultant for photographers and artists seeking publication in books. In addition to helping to prepare presentations for consideration by publishers (selecting and sequencing photographs, deciding upon forms of presenting work, discussing desired formats and printing methods), Morton works with the artist and publisher to find and enlist authors for introductions and other texts.
